Ready to POP!

I am so very excited to be a guest designer today at She's a Sassy Lady! Starting next month, I'll be joining the wonderful groups of ladies that make up the Design Team for Sheila's blog!!

Here's what I made for my post today....

I saw the cuttest baby shower invitations online, and I loved that it wasn't just pink/blue. I have a baby shower coming up in the next few weeks, and a few of us decided to put together a basket for the mommy-t0-be. I made this little treat (inspired by the invitations) to include in the basket - hope she likes it!

A Royal Wedding Celebration

This week at Whimsical Wednesday, we were asked to create a project in celebration of the upcoming royal wedding - is that a fun theme, or what?! I must say I almost feel guilty spending so much time on a project that's going to sit in my craft room, but once the idea popped in my head, I couldn't seem to move past it to work on anything else...I'm sure you've had the feeling :) So here's my project....

Spring Flowers

This week at Cooking with Cricut the theme is Spring Flowers! I've always thought the cuttest places to use Peachy Keen face stamps are fruits & flowers, and I wasn't going to pass up the chance to do it now! Here are my DT submission for the Spring Flowers theme...

Easter Cupcakes

Mimi asked me to make some cupcakes for Easter dinner tonight, and I wanted something "Eastery" (is that a word?! lol). My favorite cupcakes thus far have been the Snickerdoodle with cinnamon cream cheese frosting, so I altered the way I decorated it a bit to make a nest over some grass - and topped it off with chocolate eggs :)

Now, back to crafting......

Easter Cookies

Have you ever had a cookie from Cookie Bouquet?! I absolutely LOVE them!!!! I decided I wanted to learn how to make them, so I've been teaching myself the how-to's (gotta' love the internet!!), and decided to make cookies instead of cupcakes for school this week - I was amazed that I sent an e-mail out at 7:30, and by 7:45 they were all gone! Anyways, this is only my 2nd time decorating cookies, so go easy on me :)....

Easter - CWC DT Project

The challenge at Cooking with Cricut this week is all about Easter. I've had so much fun creating things the last few weeks, when I realized I had not yet done anything for my students. I wanted to give everyone a candy-filled, plastic egg...but I couldn't just hand them a plain egg, could I?! I made this little box as a "trial" for the ones I want to give each one of the kiddoes. I cut the box from Tags, Bags & Boxes, and the bunny face is the front of a pair of slippers from Slumber Party Lite. I wish you could see the white pom-pom in the back, because I thought that was the cuttest detail....

Fundraiser Cupcakes

My honey is on a local softball team, and in order to help him with fundraisers, I've been making cupcakes every Friday and taking them to school - what teacher doesn't love cupcakes?! :) Here are some from the past two weeks (and an extra one I threw in there)....

Snickerdoodle cupcake w/
cinnamon cream cheese frosting

(See below for recipe)

Yellow cupcake with chocolate buttercream

Chocolate cupcake w/ hazelnut buttercream

The extra: Bailey's Irish Cream
Cupcake & frosting

*Many people have asked for the recipe for the Snickerdoodle Cupcakes, so HERE is the link. Instead of the 7-Minute Frosting suggested in Martha Stewart's Cupcakes book, I went with the Cinnamon Cream Cheese frosting I found HERE. Enjoy!

There's Cash in Your Stash - CWC DT Project

Today's challenge at Cooking With Cricut is in honor of tax day...use something from your stash that is over a year old, or use money in your project somewhere. This was no easy task, but I must say that once I thought of a piggy bank, I was so excited to finally get that Toy Story cartridge out for the first time in a very long time! I had a lot of fun with this project and actually thought it turned out better than I expected! :)

April Showers Bring May Flowers - Whimsical Wednesday DT Project

Today's challenge at Whimsical Wednesday was to use an umbrella, rain boots, rain drops or flowers in your design - so I picked two out of four. Since I had done the umbrella centerpiece/favor for CWC last week and absolutely loved that umbrella, I wanted to attempt to use it again in a different way. So, this week I made a 3D card - filled with lots of daisies.

Here's a different view....

Easter Carrot Box

Today I will be showcasing my creations at The Bug Bytes for the very first time. I had the opportunity to hang out with Pam (aka, The Bug Bytes) at the Texas Stampede in March, and I was so honored to have been invited to join a team of such talented women!

With Easter just around the corner, I decided to share a quick, easy project that everyone is sure to love - I hope :). Here's by candy-filled, Easter carrot box:

For a complete tutorial - from start to finish - and a link for the DS .cut file, head over to The Bug Bytes and check out my post!

Bunny Hop Blog Hop

Welcome to the Cooking With Cricut Bunny Hop! With Easter just around the corner we wanted to share some of our ideas and give you some inspiration for your Easter projects! If you've come from Stacey's at Stacey's Creative Corner, you're in the right place! If you've just happened across my blog and would like to hop along with us, you can go to Cooking With Cricut and start at the beginning.

For today's theme, I wanted something that just screamed Easter...so what better than an Easter basket (I seem to be developing a bit of an addiction to 3D project)?! I loved this basket from the Easter 2010 cartridge, but thought it was a bit too plain. So I cut out some strips, inked it, and weaved them into a "basket"...

Now it's your turn! Link up your Easter-related project at Cooking With Cricut - be sure to include a Cricut or other die cut machine cut on your project. The Design Team will pick their three favorites and one lucky person will be chosen randomly to win one of the prize packages being offered in this hop.

April Showers - CWC DT Project

This week at Cooking With Cricut, the theme was April Showers. We had to design a project where the focus was rain or water. My interpretation - if there is rain, there's an umbrella :). I made this fun 3D project, and have since thought of so many different ways to use it....party favors, center pieces, etc (I'm thinking baby showers). The possibilities are endless if you change up the paper, colors, and accents! Hope you like it!

Here's the umbrella side up.... And here it is filled with Hershey's...

Whimsical Wednesday Blog Hop

Welcome to the Whimsical Wednesday Grand Opening Blog Hop! We are glad you could join us! You should have arrived from Gigi's. If you're just stopping by and would like to join in on the fun, you can start at the beginning by clicking here.

A collegue at work wanted something unique as a way to say 'thank you' to her child's teachers, and after playing around with the design for a while, this is what I came up with....a Spring-themed, strawberry-filled basket. The best part?! It's filled with Hershey Kisses! These turned out so cute, and she loved them so much, that she decided to show them off at school. Needless to say, I've been taking orders for a week and a half, and have already sold more than 10 for Easter....
